Egyptian filmmaker

Tamer Ezzat originally graduated as a Physics & Electronics Major at the American University in Cairo in 1994. But soon he turned his attention to the making of films and worked as a film editor, where he edited films for famed directors such as Yousef Chahine's Silence… We're Rolling (2001) and Yousry Nasrallah's On Boys, Girls and the Veil (1995) and The City (1999). In 2001, he received a Fulbright grant to study at the Center for Advanced Digital Applications (CADA) at New York University, earning a Certificate in Digital Special Effects. At the same time, he pursued a diploma in film directing at the New York Film Academy (NYFA.) He completed his NYFA diploma short film Al Qarar (2002)
In 2002, he returned to Cairo to start directing and producing. His award-winning documentaries include Everything Is Gonna Be Alright! (2004) and The Place I Call Home (2006) awards winning at festivals in Cairo and Rotterdam. His fiction feature debut, The Ring Road, which he wrote and directed, had its premiere at the Cairo International Film Festival in 2010. He directed When we are born (2019) World Premiered at 3rd El Gouna FilmFest, Egypt.

Watan Films is a newly established company continuing on the path of the two previous production names, Myth Productions and In-House Productions, through which it produced several award-winning documentaries and short films, as well as television commercials and corporate videos including the short ‘The Decision' (2001), and Tamar Ezzat's feature documentaries ‘Everything Is Gonna Be Alright' (2004) and ‘The Place I Call Home' (2006).

نبذة عن المخرج

تامر عزت صانع أفلام مصري، بدأ حياته المهنية عام 1994 في المونتاج لمخرجين مصريين مشهورين على غرار يوسف شاهين في فيلم "سكوت..حنصوّر" (2001)، ويسري نصر الله في فيلمي "الصبيان والبنات والحجاب" (1995) و"المدينة" (1999). درس عزت الإخراج والمؤثرات الخاصة في جامعة نيويورك وأكاديمية نيويورك للأفلام. وفي عام 2002، عاد إلى القاهرة ليبدأ إخراج وإنتاج أفلام وثائقية حازت على جوائز من بينها "كل شيء سيكون على ما يرام" (2004) و"مكان أسميه الوطن" (2006). أولى أفلامه الروائية الطويلة التي ألفها وأخرجها هي "الطريق الدائري"، وعُرض للمرة الأولى في مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي عام 2010. يعمل تامر حالياً على فيلم وثائقي عن الثورة المصرية 2011.
