Tunisian Filmmaker.
Raja Amari was born in Tunis. She completed a Master's degree in French literature at the University of Tunis and studied cinema at La Fémis. Her features include Satin Rouge (2002), Buried Secrets (2009), and Foreign Body (2016).
Raja Amari was born in Tunis, on April 4th, 1971. She has a diploma from the screenwriting departement of the Femis (Paris), and a degree in literature. She has directed two short films : "Avril" (1998) which received the Special Jury Prize in Milan, and "Un soir de juillet" (2000). She directed her first feature film, "Satin rouge", in 2001. She also wrote a play, "Les Lois de l'inertie", and a piece for France Culture (radio), "Le Sable qui chante". "Dowaha (Buried Secrets)", directed in 2009, is her second feature.
"Printemps Tunisien" (2014) is her third Feature (selected at JCC 2014 and in Official Competition at Fespaco 2015). Her fourth feature, Foreign Body (2016), was World premiered in Toronto at TIFF 2016.
