Born in Marseille in 1960.
Marie Hélia worked on several films as assistant director and screenwriter between 1986 and 1994. Since 1994 she has made a number of documentaries and shorts (For example: L'Usine rouge (Doc-1989), L'Etoile d'or (Doc-1990), L'Ile noire (Short-1993) et Monette (Short-1999). She has also run screenwriting workshops and in 1997 taught at the University of Rennes 2 in the Performing Arts department.
