Kibwe Tavares graduated with 1st Class Honours in architectural engineering from the University of Leeds. Robots of Brixton (2010) is his graduation thesis project and has garnered over 250,000 online views to date. Aside from developing his film projects, he is also part of Factory Fifteen (www.factoryfifteen.com) a creative studio specialising in film, animation and architectural representation.

Kibwe Tavares grew up South London, where he had an interest in animation from a young age, taking inspiration from comics, manga, and sci-fi novels. After earning master's degrees in engineering and architecture, he cofounded film and animation studio Factory Fifteen. His award-winning short "Robots of Brixton" has screened at festivals worldwide, including the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, where it won a Special Jury Prize. Kibwe will be giving a presentation on visual storytelling at the 2013 TED conference.
