Nordine is thirty, a second generation Moroccan living in the North of France - a former mining region. His father, driven by the spirit of integration, never returned home unlike other countrymen. Now that he is dead his last will is to be buried in his homeland. Nordine takes the coffin back to his father's village, high in the Atlas Mountains together with the beautiful Nora whom he accidentally meets on the road. A woman embarking on a new life. It is a journey of discovery of the music and tastes of his roots. He also befriends and helps the vivacious, clowning Mimoun, who is willing to risk his life to follow his dream in another country.
