A popular hero, Mehdi, rides a motorcycle through history. Regions and imaginary adventures parade according to his imagination. By a trickery, Mehdi, a young peasant, is supposed to be the hero of a rural community that bears its misery while waiting for a mythical resolution of all its problems. Mehdi is reinforced in this "mission" by the local notables complicit in this mystification which allows them to cement by belief the hold they intend to keep on the tribe.
