BSDA 2003 CONTEST : The start is given

To make the most important number of canditates take part in the 2003 edition of its literary and musical contest (poetry is this year's literature genre), the Senegalese Bureau for royalties (BSDA) is going to sensitize and inform people through a tour. The trip will start this Friday at Blaise Senghor Cultural Centre and will end on september 4th in Ziguinchor. The themes of the event of august 29th are : "traditional music", "poetry- poetic genre", "Evolution of poetry writing". The targeted people are the directors of cultural centers, cultural institutes, members of the Senegalese Association of Writers, the resource people targeted are the poet-publisher, Elie-Charles Moreau, the writer Fatou Ndiaye Sow and the poet Amadou Lamine. On september 1st, Saint Louis Governer and his staff will host a meeting dealing with the two same topics, targeting Saint Louis, Louga and Matam cultural centers directors, a writer and a musician from the area, and the possible canditates for Birago Diop Prize for the best script. The resources -people will be Aminata Sow Fall and Louis Camara. The following day, the organisers will be at Cinéma Amitié in Thies to deal with the same topics, and Mbaye Gana Kébé, Sada Weïndé Ndiaye and Fama Diagne will be there. Then,they will head for the region of Kaolack which will be joined by the regions of Diourbel and Fatick. On september 4th, the region of Ziguinchor will hold debates, and the neighbouring regions of Kolda and Tambacouda will join the event.

The contests will then be open until next october 31st when the winners will be chosen during a gala night event.
